NDP Leader Jack Layton was fluently bilingual, glib, sometimes flashy, full of energy and always media-friendly. He loved to entertain and uplift his co-workers with a strum on his guitar and spirit in his voice (which wasn't particularly good but he sang with gusto). Growing up in a political family, Layton was a left-wing Toronto city councillor for 17 years and spent a year as head of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. He became leader of the federal New Democratic Party in 2003... The NDP became the Official Opposition for the first time in history. Going into the 2011 federal election... Written by (STAFF)
IN TRANSIT created opportunities for artists and 46 young people with complex needs to collaborate on individual film portraits over an eight year period to 2013. The films describe each young person in a way that is personal, poetic and expansive integrating art into the processes of consultation and person centre planning during transition services. The films played a role in the future lives of the young people involved by revealing their individuality and means of accessing the world. They also informed social care providers, support workers and others involved in planning and providing services about their lives and aspirations.

The story of "Jack" is well-known. It is a beautiful story of a natural child. His mother, Ida de Borancy, worships the dear little nameless and fatherless being whom she decides, as he is getting on in years, to place in a boarding school. The child's professor of literature is a certain Amaury D'Argenton, a failure of the faculty, and an uninspired poet. During one of her visits to the institution, Mme. de Borancy is attracted by D'Argenton, and falls in love with him. The "Ne'er-do-Well" soon gives up his starving position and makes his abode with her, exercising over her absolute control. He soon learns to hate little Jack and forces her to leave him permanently at school. The poor child, unaccustomed to the separation, runs away, only to find, when he arrives at his former home, that his mother has moved and is now living thirty miles away. He undertakes the journey on foot, and reaches his mother's house completely exhausted. Here he meets Dr. Rivals and his daughter, Cecil.
An award winning short film inspired by The Stanley Parable indie game, and The Truman Show. Starring BAFTA nominated Kevan Brighting as the voice actor from the original Stanley Parable indie game and Tristan Coates as Jack. The Stanley Parable is a game about game design, a surreal interactive satire on its medium. While adapting this concept to film, we translated the satirical themes into a commentary on film making; developing the story and style simultaneously to build the world of the writer. VFX played an important part in creating a world similar to The Stanley Parable. Using green screens and camera tracking we were able to recreate the shifting environment in the game and place the film in an artificial setting.
A horror story in a little more than one minute.

Jack is naked. Jack is pretending to play guitar. Jack looks silly and vulnerable? This piece is inspired by the notion that the exposure of Jesus’ penis was to prove his humanity and vulnerability. Penis = Vulnerability. Penis + Air Guitar = Super Vulnerability.
